I have always liked/enjoyed writing. I am by no means a fantastic writer and I am most likely not an employable writer (yet). But I do like to get my ideas down on paper, or type them up as is usually the case. I also enjoy reading which I truly believe has helped me to become a better writer. I habitually read the HubSpot blog for work related information and have found it has also helped me outside of work as well.
This morning I stumbled upon this post, How to Be a Writing God. I am always looking for ways to improve my skills (said in Napoleon Dynamite voice) so I read it and watched the embedded YouTube video. It was long (about 18 minutes) but well worth it. The video stars Beth Dunn in her Bold Talk at INBOUND 2013 (HubSpot’s annual conference).
I learned that there is a secret to becoming a writing God and it is not nearly as hard as you might think it would be.
What I got out of this video that will stick with me was to keep streaks alive. Write everyday. Don’t focus on how many words or the standards of my writing, just write. Every day. EVERY SINGLE DAY! And you know what…I plan to do just that!
Beth Dunn is my inspo for this post. Who are you inspired by?
