Tuesday = worst day of the week.
Yesterday was no exception. I had a super long and frustrating day at work and all I wanted to do after was eat comfort food and drink wine.
Instead, I wo-manned up and headed to the gym. It was packed but I found some free space and started with Gina’s Plank Burner from the Winter Shape Up. I have a love/hate relationship with planks. Some days I can plank like none other and some days I can barely hold a forearm plank for 10 seconds.
Today, luckily, I felt like a plank superstar!
After completing the Plank Burner I hopped on the treadmill for run. The Winter Shape Up called for a tempo run but I was feeling intervals (I usually do when I have to get some frustration out). Here is what my run looked like.
I love changing up speeds throughout treadmill run because I tend to get bored quickly if I don’t. I covered just over 3 miles in 30 minutes.
Today’s music selection was a little unconventional for me. During the Plank Burner I pressed play on the Naked and Famous “Passive Me, Aggressive You” album. I ended up listening to it throughout my run as well. The songs on this album are all pretty short which worked with my interval mind set.
I didn’t get home until after 7:00 pm and when I went to make Anne’s Sweet Potato & Lentil Coconut Curry I realized it would take much longer to cook than anticipated. Note: lentils take a while to cook. I was starving, I couldn’t wait.
I went with my go-to “I have no time to cook and I am starving” dinner of a Spicy Chik’n Boca Burger on an English muffin. I jazzed it up a little with baby spinach, sliced red onion, a couple of Kalamata olives and a handful of cherry tomatoes on the side. Quick and filling.
My crazy week continues with lots of work, meetings, classes, gym time and house hunting!
Happy hump day!
