I can’t believe we are already half way through the work week! In the past 24 hours I have done some great workouts that I wanted to share.
Last night, after work, I headed to the gym with one thing in mind…conquering the 50 Rep Workout that Julie posted earlier in the day. I usually shy away from the weight area at the gym in favor for studio classes with strength elements (ahem…R.I.P.P.E.D) but last night I wanted to ditch the weight room fear and crank out the 50 Rep Workout.
I decided to split each segment up into groups of 10 because I was that after I did 50 box jumps I wouldn’t be in any mood to continue with the rest of the workout. After completing 10 sets/reps of each I was already sweaty and wasn’t sure if I could finish but low and behold I did finish.
This workout took me about 25 minutes to complete which included a few very short water breaks. After I conquered this workout I rewarded myself with 30 minutes on the elliptical watching Orange is the New Black on my phone.
When I woke up this morning my legs were definitely feeling all of the box jumps and squats from last night but I knew I needed to get my sweat on early because I have a ton of work to do today and class tonight.
I opted for a spin class at my second home, Studio 13. This class was tough! After warming up, we did 4 songs of hill climbs alternating between seated and standing climbs. My poor legs were screaming at me! We didn’t turn that knob down once!
After the climbs, which took about 15 minutes, we moved on to 10 sets of 1 minute intervals (alternating between seated and standing) with 30 seconds of rest between each. These went be very quickly and just like that the class was done!
My legs may not forgive me for a few days but these (nearly) back to back workouts were both awesome! I can’t wait to do the 50 Rep Workout again…maybe I try to beat my 25 minute time!
Have a great Wednesday!
