And we’re off! Another week to conquer! I’m ready for it. After a few rough days last week, this weekend couldn’t have come fast enough. Friday night SL and I laid low with Thai.
Saturday morning it was long run time with Mugsy. The training schedule this week called for a 6-miler. The route we planned ended up being a little short so we added a loop in the neighborhood where I grew up! I wore my new Bic Band nad proceeded to loose it somewhere between miles 1 and 5 of our run. Whomp whomp. Looks like I will have to buy another one.
The weather was beautiful and I was definitely overdressed in my full length running tights and long sleeve pull over. I was hot and super sweaty by the end of the run. Here are our splits:
- Mile 1 – 9:10
- Mile 2 – 8:59 (negative split!)
- Mile 3 – 8:46 (our fastest mile!)
- Mile 4 – 9:04
- Mile 5 – 9:01
- Mile 6 – 9:22 (We got held up crossing streets a bunch here because we were running through the downtown area and dodging cars left and right!)
- Last 0.02 “mile” – 9:53
I haven’t done a 6-mile run in years and I felt great after (and super accomplished). The rest of Saturday included errands and a HUGE wine tasting at our local liquor store. The tasting was free and there were tons of great wines to taste.
