It is the final countdown to my first half marathon!! T-minus 5 days and counting. I am running with Mugsy later tonight (4 miles) so I opted to sleep in this morning. I was in and out of sleep all night thanks to weird wedding dreams so the extra couple of hours of sleep this morning was much needed.
I was planning on doing this strength and conditioning workout this morning and despite sleeping instead, I figured I would still share it.
This workout goes by quickly because you are constantly moving from one set to the next. All you need for this workout is your body, a mat (yoga or otherwise) and either a weighted bar or two heavier dumbbells (I would use 8 lbs. or 10 lbs. but you do you).
Start with 10 burpees followed by 10 jumping jacks, 10 squats, etc. After 10 pikes, rest for 10 seconds then move on completing 9 reps of each exercise. Note: Keep a bottle of water close because you will need it! This may look easy but it’s super sweaty!
Here are a couple videos of some of the exercises:
Hopefully I will squeeze this in tomorrow morning to get a little strength workout in before the big race. Enjoy your Tuesday!
Wow, I absolutely love this workout and how exciting- your first half marathon!!! YAAAY!!! π π
