While I was training for the Triathlon by the Sea and the Twin Lobster Half Marathon I was exclusively working out before work. I wish I could say I was still as disciplined in doing this but now I am almost always working out after work.
During this past winter and spring, working out before work was the only option because I was still in school. Now that working out after work is an option, I have been choosing sleeping in over hitting the gym at 5:30m. I’ve been beating myself up over it but have finally come to the realization that ITS OK to do nighttime workouts.
With all of that said, here is what I did last night after work.
- Cardio – 3 miles (slow) on the treadmill + 5 extra minutes of walking
- Frisky Fall Full Body Routine (only made it through 2 rounds)
- MaliBooty Workout (LOVE THIS!)
After this I was STARVING, like I want to eat the world starving. But I made a couple good decisions and threw together this delicious masterpiece.
(Can of tuna mixed with 2T hummus, 1 chopped celery stalk, 1/4 chopped apple, 1 slice chopped onion all over a bed of greens. After the pic was taken I added about a gallon of Frank Red Hot on top…mmm spicy!)
Is tuna and apples weird? You bet it is but is was so good and I will definitely be making this concoction again.
This morning I opted to sleep in (until 6:30 am) so I’ll be working out after work once again. On the docket for tonight – 4.5 miles on the treadmill. I haven’t done this distance in a while so I am going to keep it slow for the first mile or so then go from there. I’d also like to throw in some strength as well. Maybe this.
OK, time to tackle Wednesday! And Happy October…one of my favorite months!
