Welcome to my first Friday Favorites of 2015! Last year went be so incredibly fast and judging by the rate that this month is flying by at, so will this year. With the new house and wedding, 2015 may be my most favorite year yet!

- Amaranth
I tried this grain for the first time this week and I love it. Amaranth looks like quinoa or couscous but it is actually a seed that acts a lot like quinoa when cooked. This ancient food dates back thousands of years to the Aztec time and is not only gluten-free but a complete protein and high in fiber, iron and magnesium. I cooked mine in chicken broth with chopped up onion and garlic and it was fantastic. I will be making this again (and again, and again).
- FitSnap
I’ve seen a few FitSnap snaps on my Instagram feed over the past few weeks and I was curious about the app so I downloaded it and have been using it all week. The app connects with your picture and allows you to add your personal workout to your workout pic (like above). This has been a fun way to document my weekly workouts and I am looking forward to the nice weather to get pictures of outside runs and workouts.
- Clean eating
I don’t know about you but this holiday season (and moving season for SL and I) I indulged in everything I wanted to. And that didn’t usually involve the daily recommended intake of fruits and veggies. I can say that I have been concentrating on filling my plate with more greens lately and nixing the go-to take out SL and I became reliant on while in transition between houses.
That’s all I have for this week. Time to bust a the rest of my work day then enjoy my 3-day weekend!
