I Missed National Pizza Day

I am a poor excuse for a human, I missed National Pizza Day. How could I? It’s one of my favorite foods! My top 3 favorites are:

  • Pizza
  • Watermelon
  • Chicken Fingers / French Fries

Funny because my least favorite foods are as follows:

  • Cheese
  • Cheese
  • Cheese

Yup, you heard read me right. I don’t like cheese but my favorite food is pizza. Pizza is the only food I eat with cheese. Call me crazy (SL always does) but that’s just the way I roll.

In honor of National Pizza Day I would like to share some of my favorite pizza things.

This pizza is my everything! Willington Pizza is right down the street from UConn and any time someone’s parents came for a visit we would all head to Willington Pizza to indulge in this amazing-ness. The House Special legit has everything on it: hamburg, sausage, green pepper, onion, mushrooms and pepperoni. YUM YUM YUM. I am considering making the drive down to CT just for pizza.

I found this gem on Pinterest and it took me a few seconds to decide which board to pin it to – My Style or Dinner Inspo. I landed on My Style because anything pizza is always my style!

  • Pizza Friendship Necklace

I am not sure where I found this originally but I forwarded it along to one select friend who shares my love for pizza. Back in the day (read: before I was 30 and could do things like this) we would go out to the bar for hours, come back to our friend’s apartment and order 2 pizzas for 3 people. And yes, we would almost always finish them. (I miss those days.) I joked with her that we would each have to wear 4 slices because wearing only one would be a lie (and we don’t have 6 other friends who would rock the necklace like we would).

  • Pizza lunches with my mom and sister

Before life got crazy, my mom, sister and I enjoyed weekend pizza lunches often. Whether it was before grocery shopping (you can’t go on an empty stomach, right?) or while out running other errands we made time to sit down (most at Papa Gino’s) order a pie and enjoy a no-frills lunch together.

And this concludes my super random, one-day-late post about my love affair for pizza. Thanks for bearing with me!
