I am still riding the high of the weekend despite today being the worst day of the week. I talked about what SL and I ate and did while we were away over the weekend and today I am going to where we stayed, Carriage House of Woodstock.
I just want to say that I would head over heels recommend this inn/B&B to anyone and everyone looking to stay in the area. It is near both Killington and Pico ski mountains and is across the street from the Woodstock Farmers Market.
When SL and I arrived after sitting in traffic for hours we were kindly greeted by one of the innkeepers and I immediately felt like I wanted to move in! Miranda offered to help with our bags but instead we asked for dinner recommendations and toted the bags ourselves. Miranda suggested 3 places, all of which we tried (and loved) on our short trip. She knows her Woodstock, VT shit!
Check out the fun stair cases! The whole inn was full of books, even our room had tons of books. I didn’t read a thing over the weekend. I just ate ALL.THE.FOOD.
Our room was basically decorated how I envision our house to be one day. Classy and classic with old and new. I loved it. Again, I want to move into this place.
Although our room was beautiful, we didn’t spend a ton of time in it. Between the 8:30 am breakfast call and the fantastic dinners out, our room was a bit neglected except for Sunday morning post-breakfast when I gladly jumped back in bed before check-out!
Like I said yesterday, I mentioned that I was mostly dairy-free and for both breakfasts I was accommodated with perfectly with scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage and a side of fruit. Despite being weird about dairy, I didn’t turn down the freshly baked cookies (YOLO all day).
If anything, I just wish we were able to spend more time at the Carriage House. I would have loved to sit in their little library and read by the fire or spend more time relaxing in the beautiful room we stayed in. I guess that means we will just have to go back!
I hope everyone is having a super Tuesday!
On a scale of 1-10; how super is your Tuesday?
- Me – 8. Not bad for the worst day of the week.
