There are so many amazing classes and studios these days and I would love a way to visit and try all of them! I was making a list of all of the studios/classes I want to try and there were a bunch! This is the first post in a series where I will chat about the local classes I want to try. First off – PILOXING®!
There is no good reason I have not taken this class yet. It is offer at my beloved Studio 13 and would be covered under my current class pass. My only (two) excuses – one of the classes is on Sunday mornings at 8:30…erg. Sunday is my only real sleep in day and 8:30 is just early enough that I would have to set my alarm clock.
The other class is offer on Monday nights (great, no school!) at 6:30 (the same time as R.I.P.P.E.D., rats). As you may know, I absolutely LOVE R.I.P.P.E.D. and hate to miss the Monday night class because it is the best class of the week. As luck may have it, I think the regular Monday night R.I.P.P.E.D. is cancelled next week to do renovations. Looks like I may be able to check PILOXING® off the bucket list sooner than I thought!
I did a little research on this class and here is what I found:
PILOXING® cardio fusion incorporates cutting edge research and fitness techniques to burn maximum calories, build lean muscles, and increase stamina.
The program uniquely blends the power, speed, and agility of boxing with the targeted sculpting and flexibility of pilates. These techniques are also supplemented by the use of weighted gloves, further toning the arms and maximizing cardiovascular health. Add to that exhilarating dance moves and you have a muscle-toning, fat-burning workout that will make you feel physically and mentally empowered! (Source)
I am really looking forward to trying this class out! The instructor who teaches this class at Studio13 is new (and new to me) but I have heard great things.
Here is a quick video highlighting a bunch of the moves.
Has anyone tried PILOXING®? What did you think?
